Over the past few years, Egyptian handball has witnessed a remarkable resurgence, fueled by a combination of strategic leadership, unwavering commitment, and national pride. As a member of the Egyptian Handball Federation's Board of Directors and as CEO of MBG Egypt, I have had the privilege of being deeply involved in this exciting journey. The past months, in particular, have been a testament to our collective efforts to elevate the sport and put Egypt firmly on the global handball map.

The draw for the 17th edition of the IHF Men's Club World Championship “Super Globe,” held in the vibrant city of New Alamein, was more than just an event; it was a symbol of Egypt’s growing influence in the world of sports. Attending the draw alongside key figures such as Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, and the President of the International Handball Federation, Dr. Hassan Mostafa and The director of President of the International Handball Federation, Mrs. Amal khalifa, was a moment of pride. The draw, which took place during the New Alamein Festival’s activations, was impeccably organized and sponsored by United Sports under the umbrella of United Media Services, led by Amr El Fiky, whose outstanding organization set the stage for the upcoming “Super Globe” tournament in September.

The energy and excitement at the draw mirrored the spirit of our national handball team, which recently made waves at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where I had the honor of attending alongside the team. Our thrilling victory against Norway, the reigning World Championship runner-up, to secure a place in the quarter-finals, is a reflection of the dedication and skill that define Egyptian handball. This triumph is not just a win on the scoreboard; it represents the culmination of years of hard work, planning, and strategic investment in the sport.

Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Mohamed El-Amin, President of the Egyptian Handball Federation, we have made tremendous strides. Dr. El-Amin’s foresight in contracting with international Spanish coach Carlos Pastor and his relentless support for the team have been instrumental in transforming our national squad into a formidable force on the global stage. Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our athletes receive the resources, training, and encouragement they need to compete at the highest levels.

As we look ahead, the development of the New Administrative Capital, led by Khaled Abbas chairman of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development, adds another layer of excitement. The upcoming Super Globe tournament in the new Olympic Sports City at the New Administrative Capital will not only serve as a showcase for our handball talent but also as a testament to Egypt’s rapid infrastructure development. This venue, a product of our nation’s vision and ambition, stands ready to welcome the world and further cement our place in the international sporting community.

In my opinion, the success of our handball team is a reflection of a broader movement within Egypt, a movement that values youth empowerment, community engagement, and national pride. The victories we celebrate today are not just for the present but are laying the foundation for future generations of Egyptian handball players. These achievements inspire us all and remind us of the power of sports to unite, uplift, and propel a nation forward.

Egypt’s handball journey is far from over, and I am confident that, with continued support and dedication, our team will reach even greater heights. As we gear up for the Super Globe and future competitions, I remain committed to doing everything in my power to support our athletes and to promote the sport that has brought so much pride and joy to our country. Together, we will continue to make history.
