By staying on top of the latest trends and innovations, he is able to create spaces that are not only visually stunning but also practical and functional. "For me, the word 'trends' has a dual meaning. On the one hand, it can be a tool used by marketing professionals to promote certain ideas, colors, materials, or brands. While this aspect of trends is not a benchmark for me, I do recognize the importance of following and monitoring trends to stay updated on what's happening in the market. By keeping up with the latest trends, I'm able to stay informed and adapt my approach to design in response to changing tastes and preferences. However, I always prioritize the needs and preferences of my clients and strive to create spaces that are timeless and enduring, rather than simply following fleeting trends."

As an interior designer and creative visionary, Wally constantly seeks out new inspirations and ideas to inform his work by recognizing the importance of staying informed about the latest trends, "I believe that true creativity stems from a combination of personal style and unique inspiration. For me, it's about finding a balance between what feels comfortable and what feels original, and using my own creativity to bring those elements together in a way that is both inspiring and functional."

Wally shares his intakes on foreseeable trends and inspirations for 2024 that will impact the world of design, he claims exploring a range of ideas and concepts from cutting-edge materials and innovative technologies to timeless styles and classic design principles, shaping the way we think about interiors in the coming years. "The design community is shifting towards minimalism, with a focus on clean lines, natural materials, and muted tones. This trend includes modern, contemporary, and wabi-sabi styles, and emphasizes simplicity and understated elegance. My design philosophy is rooted in simplicity and understated elegance. Rather than relying on elaborate details and embellishments, I prefer to focus on creating spaces that allow the inherent beauty of the materials and forms to shine through. By simplifying the design, I'm able to create a space that feels true to its spirit and allows the user to fully experience and appreciate the space."

Foreseeable trends and approaches

Materials are a key component of interior architecture, as they play a crucial role in defining the look, feel, and functionality of a space. From the texture and color of the walls to the flooring, furniture, and accessories, every material used in a space contributes to its overall design and aesthetic. The choice of materials can also impact the functionality of a space, influencing factors such as acoustics, lighting, and temperature control. "In the world of interior design, natural materials are currently in the spotlight. These materials are not only beautiful, but also sustainable and durable, making them a popular choice for designers who prioritize eco-friendliness and longevity. From wood and stone to marble and other natural materials, there are many options available that offer both aesthetic and functional benefits."

In addition to their aesthetic and functional qualities, materials can also convey a sense of luxury, quality, and craftsmanship, adding to the overall perceived value of a space. Ultimately, the choice of materials in interior architecture is a critical decision that should be made with careful consideration of the desired aesthetic, functionality, and user experience of the space.

"Other materials such as glass can also be used to create a sense of serenity and simplicity in a space. The transparency of glass allows for an unobstructed view of the surroundings, and can help to create a sense of spaciousness and lightness in a room. By using a variety of materials in a thoughtful and intentional way, designers can create spaces that are both beautiful and functional, while also prioritizing sustainability and durability."

When it comes to paints and wall effects, Wally expresses his preference for simplicity and natural textures, gravitating towards plain colors and rough textures, which allow the inherent beauty of the walls to shine through. By embracing the raw, natural look of walls, I'm able to create a space that feels authentic and grounded. "In terms of color, I tend to favor earthy tones and bright pastels that evoke a sense of serenity and connection to nature. These colors complement the natural textures of the walls and help to create a cohesive, harmonious feel in the space. Whether through rough textures or simple colors, my goal is always to create a space that feels true to its surroundings and provides a sense of comfort and tranquility."

In terms of furniture, the designer prioritizes function over form, seeking out simple yet stylish pieces that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. "I tend to avoid bulky or oversized furniture, instead opting for items with a natural wooden look or a blend of materials such as wood and paint, glass, or silver/gold leaves. I also have a soft spot for materials such as leather, linen, and velvet, which bring a touch of natural elegance to a space."

Wally is a firm believer in supporting local suppliers and finding hidden gems in the local market through his work with local furniture makers and home accessories suppliers. "I'm able to discover unique pieces that reflect the character and culture of the area. This not only supports the local economy, but also adds a sense of authenticity and originality to the space. By combining functional and stylish furniture with locally sourced treasures, I'm able to create spaces that are both beautiful and meaningful."
